ROWAN HAMWOOD

Rowan Hamwood is a flautist at home in many styles, with output ranging from jazz to classical and a more recent focus on New Music and contemporary improvisation. Rowan holds a Bachelor degree in Jazz from the Queensland Conservatorium, is an ANAM graduate, and completed a Cycle de Specialisation in Contemporary Music Performance with Mario Caroli.

Rowan has featured as a soloist with the QYS, Strasbourg Conservatoire Contemporary Music Ensemble and in the Festival MUSICA Young Composers Program. He was invited to play at the SoundSCAPE and BIFEM Festivals, and has performed recitals in France, Germany, Italy, Canada and Australia. 

Rowan's recent work as a recording artist includes featuring on tracks for the debut album of the band ‘Parcels’, recording for the ABC TV program ‘Bluey’ and featuring in an advertising campaign for Israeli composer Yishay Raziel.
